Introduction to Art History
This seminar offers an introduction to the methods and tools of art history. It aims to explore the role of the image throughout history, both as a work of art (paintings, sculptures, etc.) and in the context of everyday life (advertising, digital images, etc.). Each session is devoted to a different theme, which serves as an example and a framework for the discussions developed during the course.
Objectifs pédagogiques
By the end of this seminar, students will be able to:
- Describe and analyse the construction of an image using methods specific to art history,
- Examine and understand the issues surrounding the choices made in representing a given
subject,
-Identify and contextualise theoretical discourses on representations and their consequences for the production of images.

Vos modalités d'acquisition :
First session: a one-hour supervised exam in week 5 (50%) and a one-and-a-half-hour
supervised exam in the final week (50%).
Compensatory session: a 15-minute oral exam
