Descriptif
Intellectual Property may be defined as ‘creations of the human mind, information of knowledge which can be consolidated in tangible objects at the same time in limitless number of copies’. Interestingly, the property is not contained in those copies, but is present in the information of knowledge reproduced in the copies. In this course, we shall explore the mysterious realm, a kind of twilight zone, the line between Intellectual Property and Public domain. Is all material subject to Copyright? How do we protect creations of the human mind? In the era of The Great Hack, is our personal data under siege? This course aims at stirring debate, of being Proponents of Fair Use and Opponents of Piracy and Ignorance. How are we Bound by Law? How can Creative Commons Licenses be used as a legal tool for waiving rights?
