Descriptif

The objective of this course is to provide a presentation of the phenomenon of economic development, and an introduction to development economics. After a general depiction of the process of development, the main theories that structured the related research field are presented. Specific topics are then studied, mainly through classical or contemporary research papers: at the micro side, human capital and physical capital accumulation, and at the macro side, institutions.
