Let’s see what happens if you each choose a country in the world that is of particular importance to you, keep a diary of what is going on there, and give us unusual, revealing news from that country on a weekly basis.

In addition, get into a debate as intense as a boxing match, with one other person and for a strictly limited time period, on a societal issue you care for, only learning before you begin which side of the debate you are on.

Lastly, read brief extracts from texts that give surprising insight into what is happening all around us, and raise essential issues for discussion.

That adds up to a course where the priority will be for you to communicate, as well as sharpen your reading and writing skills. I look forward to seeing you there.
