By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Understand and use the basic terminology and structure of matter (atoms, molecules, ions).
- Recognize and explain key chemical principles relevant to environmental and energy sciences.
- Interpret the periodic table and apply it to predict chemical properties.
- Analyze and describe simple chemical reactions, molecular interactions, and physical transformations.
- Gain confidence in the foundational chemistry required to follow advanced EESM coursework.
