Descriptif

The Lecture Series in Public Policy aims to give students the opportunity to learn from and interact directly with leading public policy experts from public institutions and private organizations in France. These sessions combine reflections on past experiences of the speakers with first-hand insights into how their institutions operate and the concrete projects they are currently working on. Particular attention will be paid to the role of data analysis in public policy, including its practical uses, opportunities, and challenges.

Students are expected to play an active role in the Lecture Series by engaging with speakers and contributing to discussions throughout the sessions.

Course organization: The course is divided into two parts:

• Fall term: Lectures will be organized separately for DEPP and EDACF students, with speakers selected to reflect the specific interests of each program. DEPP lectures will focus primarily on public administrations and international institutions, with speakers from institutions such as the OECD and the City of Paris. EDACF lectures will focus more on private-sector actors, with contributions from organizations such as Accenture.
• Spring term: Lectures will be common to both Master's programs and will feature prominent speakers whose expertise and experience are of strong interest to both groups.

Assessment :

• Attendance and active participation in the lectures.
• Group oral presentation introducing one of the speakers and the topics addressed during the session.
• Group written report summarizing and discussing the content of one of the lectures.
