MIE - Cours - IME_52470_EP : Digital Transformation and AI in Organisations and Society

Domaine > Management, Innovation et Entrepreneuriat.

Descriptif

Engineers and scientists are primarily trained to build and optimise digital technologies and AI systems. This course asks what happens once those systems leave the lab to enter and transform organisations and societies. Digital technologies and AI are not neutral instruments. They reshape organisational structures, work practices, decision-making, and professional roles, and they redistribute coordination and control in ways that are rarely settled in advance. Drawing on organisational studies, ethics, and public policy, this course enables students to develop a critical understanding of how digital and AI systems are introduced, governed, and contested within organisations and society. In doing so, it invites them to think about technologies beyond their technical properties, enabling them to evaluate and guide their organisational implementation.

Evaluation: Group project and individual exam. Two additional points may be received or deducted from final grade depending on class engagement.
