Course Description
From medieval alchemy to Da Vinci’s works to present-day art+science labs, art and science have always collaborated. This course catches a glimpse of those collaborations and questions the relationship of art and science. Topics may include any kind of art (visual arts which is the most often convened, but also poetry, dance, drama, music, etc.) and any scientific discipline or area (data science, AI, quantum physics, gene editing, ecology, etc.), providing they intersect. Through a sample of those practices, we will try to refine our ideas about what science and art do, what they have in common, what they bring to each other, in the hope that by the end of the course you will look at both art and science differently.
