Descriptif

Philosophy of Technology: Humanity, AI and Life

This course investigates how artificial intelligence and advanced technologies are reshaping the very concepts of humanity, life, and ethical responsibility. Through philosophical and speculative texts, we will explore scenarios of human enhancement, technological convergence, and potential post-human futures, while also engaging critical perspectives on technology's autonomy and its biological and evolutionary dimensions.

The course is organized around three interlocking questions:
- Where are we going? The trajectory of technological change and its civilizational stakes
- Who are we becoming? The perpetuation or transformation of the human body, mind, and species
- What do we owe? The ethical and political responsibilities that technological power generates.

Given the speculative nature of the questions posed, the goal will be not only to engage in philosophical reflection on them, but also to learn how to incorporate what the imagination can contribute to this reflection.

This course is not open to International Exchange program students.
