Objectif
École Polytechnique is committed to deliver programs emphasizing excellence in sciences while providing a complete understanding of their industrial, economic and social contexts.
The Ecotechnologies for Sustainability and Environment Management (ECOSEM) Graduate Degree offers a real-world technical expertise on environmental issues including soil and water pollution diagnostic, treatment and valorization processes, along with an in-depth understanding of the economic and social challenges to their development. Some international regulatory as well as ethics insights complete the technical and management courses.
Make our Planet Great Again
This holistic approach includes a strong management component, taught by professors from our partner business school HEC, to ensure you are ready to tackle the business and organizational challenges of this rapidly evolving sector. Part of your technical training will be delivered by professors, researchers and expert-engineers from academic institutes (École Polytechnique, IRSTEA, INRA, CEA, etc.) and international companies (EDF, Veolia, Suez, etc.).
Alongside your coursework and research, you will receive expert insight via a series of master classes, where leading industry and academic research figures will outline their strategy for navigating the environmental challenges in the 21st century.
The ECOSEM program emphasizes hands-on, experimental learning by inviting you into the worlds of research and industry, notably through four to six-month internships. To begin with, each student will be assigned to one of our degree professors involved in high-level research in order to benefit from their one-on-one mentoring.
On the École Polytechnique campus and within the Plateau de Saclay business and research cluster, you will have access to an exceptional concentration of high-level research facilities, including campus research laboratories, startups, business incubator, fablab (digital manufacturing laboratory), etc. Research laboratories of IRSTEA (Institut National de Recherche en Sciences et Technologies pour l'Environnement et l'Agriculture: National Research Institute for Environment and Agriculture Sciences and Technologies) will be also open to students.
The professional orientation of the ECOSEM program is strengthened by our industrial partners, such as Veolia, Suez, EDF, Eaux de Paris, Arcadis and many more. These partnerships present a wide range of opportunities, including scholarships, high-value internships and PhD funding.
